As a new player to the game you may be wondering what you should do first!
Luckily Puzzles and Survival has a tutorial designed around not only showing you the basic controls. But also teaching you a variety of aspects of the game. Your first consideration should be simply following the tutorial through its quests and completing the quests in order where possible. The further you get, the more autonomy you will given!
When the tutorial has a quest for building a new building or upgrading your headquarters, these are guides on how to create a strong sanctuary and improve your military forces. In addition there will be many battles in the campaign you will need to attempt. These campaign battles are the match-3 aspect of the game and will reward you with books to improve your heroes. Use these to improve your strongest heroes first! Keep an eye out for my hero guides to get a better understanding of what each hero does and how to use them effectively! In the meantime work on the heroes you have and go as far in campaign as you can. When you can’t go any further then you want to continue completing stages of campaign you have already beaten so you can get the rewards (books) to improve and level up your heroes.
On the world map you will be asked to attack zombies and rally zombie lairs. Attacking zombies can be done ‘solo’ or by yourself. Rallying a lair will require you join an alliance. Joining an alliance may be the single most important thing you do as soon as you can. Alliances are a great way to improve your knowledge, work together as a team and get rewards! Improving your military might (the strength of your troops) is going to drastically impact how well you do against zombies and zombie lairs! You will need to acquire and upgrade gear and chips. Eventually you will gain access to modules and cubes for even further enhancement!
Follow the tutorial! If you are unsure what to do next, check your “Main Quest” log and pick a quest to attempt to complete. There is no time limit on these but every time you finish one it will unlock new ones for your to complete. It is important to follow the tutorial very closely and the main quest line until you are at least headquarters level 15.
Join an alliance! Not only will fellow alliance members be able to assist you with building, upgrades, zombie lairs and alliance only events, they can also share their knowledge and experience with you and you can share yours with them! Finding a good alliance can be tricky. In the beginning focus on joining an active alliance and worry about finding the perfect alliance later.
